PRODUCING THE TEXT FOR ALLERGEN DECLARATIONS

ALLERGEN DECLARATIONS

SUPPLIER'S ALLERGEN DECLARATION

Allergen declarations for the essential oils purchased can or will change from supplier to supplier, and often from batch to batch. Always make sure that the supplier from whom you buy your ingredients has the appropriate documentation available to you. The above example is from CSS and is what you should be able to get from a reputable supplier. In order to meet UK/EU regulations for labelling, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the allergen declarations on labels reflects the batch you have made and, the batch which you have purchased from the supplier.

The best way to do this is when the ingredient comes into stock, avoiding having a big job to do when setting up labels. Cosmetic Companion gives a quick and easy way to do this. Keep the records up to date for when next creating labels.

LABELING YOUR PRODUCTS TO MEET UK/EU REQUIREMENTS
The text needed for labels is produced comma-delimited, the usual format for labels, and as free text (in the corrects sequence). Copy/paste the text into other labelling software. Under new regulations some allergens must be declared by grouping them under a group name, different to the name normally/conventionally used. All of this is taken care of automatically by Cosmetic Companion Pro*.
